Lularoe Planets Outer Space Galaxy Rockets Solar System
These leggings need a better name! Ok, seriously though if you have a pair in this pattern you can just call them Lularoe Planets and most people will know what you are talking about. If you are wanting to know if your Planets leggings are a valuable unicorn the answer is "it depends" (how typical!).
First, let's take a look at what's available. It appears that Lularoe Planets leggings come in 4 distinct colors. The purple and black backgrounds pictured above, and two versions of blue:
Resale Activity
You know that we are not consultants so as usual we're going to look at the value of these leggings on the resale market. There is a lot of activity on Facebook B/S/Ts but our best source of data is going to be eBay since they make 90 days of transaction data available. Over the past 90 days we've seen 216 Planets leggings sell that were sized OS or TC and not bundled with anything else.
The leggings with the purple background were by far the most commonly available, making up 148 of the transactions. Important to note: Purple Lularoe Planets leggings only come in OS. This makes TC Planets a lot more rare and we did notice very distinct differences in pricing for TC vs OS. Black proved to have the highest premium of any color.
Lularoe Planets OS (One Size)
- Purple [148 Sold] Low: $25.00 / High: $61.00 / Avg: $39.49
- Light Blue [16 Sold] Low: $24.50 / High: $69.99 / Avg: $36.40
- Dark Blue [8 Sold] Low: $31.00 / High: $77.16 / Avg: $43.08
- Black [11 Sold] Low: $34.75 / High: $75.00 / Avg: $56.75
You can see here Black has the highest average price by twenty dollars and is the most desirable unicorn in the planets print. The price on purple was a little bit higher at the beginning of the year and has been falling as more and more people list them (always happens on popular prints). If you shop for purple planets today then you should actually aim to pay below the average listed here as many are going in the low thirties as of April/May.
Generally for purple you should avoid fixed price listings on eBay unless they are priced close to retail. Most auctions will deliver a lower price for you. The other colors are so scarce, a fixed price listing may be your only option when shopping for that particular unicorn.
Lularoe Planets TC (Tall & Curvy)
- Light Blue [9 Sold] Low: $45.00 / High: $60.00 / Avg: $51.33
- Dark Blue [14 Sold] Low: $44.00 / High: $89.00 / Avg: $64.75
- Black [10 Sold] Low: $47.00 / High: $165.00 / Avg: $87.30
Again, black is the clear run away favorite in terms of what ladies are willing to pay to land this unicorn. All of TC comes in at a premium over OS averaging about $20 more, but the real big numbers have all been done on black.
If you are looking to land Lularoe Planets in TC your options will be limited, so don't ignore fixed price listings unless they have crazy high prices. If you are lucky, you may be able to take advantage of price confusion. We find with this type of unicorn where one color or size is worth far more than the rest people will not research thoroughly enough and make pricing mistakes.
For example, if you see a few pairs of black planets listed between $100 - $149, you may incorrectly assume that your purple pair is worth a lot more than it is:
But, on the flip side someone who see all the purple planets selling in the $30-$40 range might assume their black pair is worth about the same, when it could go for double that price:

Be careful as you shop for this unicorn. There are kid sizes available and colors can look quite different from one computer screen to the next. The purple can be quite dark and in some photos looks close to black.
